Dundas BI offers highly-customizable data visualizations with interactive scorecards, maps, gauges, and charts, optimizing the creation of ad-hoc, multi-page reports. By providing users full control over visual elements, Dundas BI simplifies the complex operation of cleansing, inspecting, transforming, and modeling big datasets.

An open-source data visualization tool, Plotly offers full integration with analytics-centric programming languages like Matlab, Python, and R, which enables complex visualizations. Widely used for collaborative work, disseminating, modifying, creating, and sharing interactive, graphical data, Plotly supports both on-premise installation and cloud deployment.

Data Wrapper is one of the very few data visualization tools on the market that is available for free. It is popular among media enterprises because of its inherent ability to quickly create charts and present graphical statistics on Big Data. Featuring a simple and intuitive interface, Data Wrapper allows users to create maps and charts that they can easily embed into reports.

Grafana open source is a free and open source visualisation and analytics tool. It enables you to query, display, alert on, and examine metrics, logs, and traces stored everywhere. It includes tools for transforming time-series database (TSDB) data into informative graphs and visualisations.

It also has a Graohana cloud component. It is an OpenSaaS logging and metrics platform that is highly available, quick, and fully controlled. The program provides all of the features you love about Grafana, but Grafana Labs hosts and manages the program for you.

Polymaps, a collaboration between Stamen and SimpleGeo, is a free JavaScript library for image and vector tiled maps that use SVG. The library enables the creation of interactive and dynamic maps in web browsers, as well as the rapid display of datasets and support for a broad range of visual presentations for vector data (tiled). Cartography from CloudMade, OpenStreetMap, Bing, and other image-based web map suppliers is supported by Polymaps. It can load data at all scales and works well for displaying information from the country level down to the local level. It displays information using Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), which allows users to simply create data design using CSS rules. This also saves users from having to learn new scripts because they may do the majority of jobs using scripts to which they are already accustomed.

ZingChart is a powerful library that provides users with the ability to quickly create beautiful charts, dashboards, and infographics. You are free to choose from hundreds of chart types with almost limitless chart design and customization options. You may also engage your users with interactive chart features.

I find the quality of the on-line documentation to be inconsistent. Sometimes the explanations are clear and thorough and supplemented by working sample code at Other times the explanations are unclear and don't provide examples or provide bits of code but not enough to creating a full working example.

I have used fusion charts to create several reports in our application. This library is packed with features to create simple charts. Our company only has the basic FusionCharts license so we have not been able to create everything we wanted. Some charts and a lot of other widgets are not available unless you buy a license for the full suite.

Somewhat pricey, considering Google Charts API is free. Can be complicated to get the charts set up exactly the way you want them (that's a con and a pro, as it depends on how complicated a chart you want).

TOAST UI Chart is an open source JavaScript charting library with support for legacy browsers including IE8. It includes all common chart types and maps, which can be customized with user-defined themes. The charts can be also combined in combo charts, for example column with line or line with area, etc. Check out the full list of examples.

All set to play around with your data and see it take shapes in the form of charts and graphs? A good JavaScript charts library is what you need to get started with all your data visualization and data analysis needs. There are many JavaScript charting libraries out there in the wild, both free and paid, and selecting one can be a daunting task.

You can get started with simple and free charting libraries like Chart.js, Echarts, Chartist, N3-charts, EJS Charts and JScharts etc or go ahead with commercial products like Highcharts.js, Fusion charts, ZingChart or AmCharts.

With more than 65K stars on GitHub, D3 is the most used and most loved JavaScript charting library out there in the wild. It is available as open source and free to use, for personal as well as for commercial use, under BSD license.

D3 utilizes web standards like SVG, CSS, HTML and Canvas to the fullest to offer maximum performance and flexibility. With D3 you can bind data with the DOM and then apply transformation to the documents for interactivity.

One key feature of Chartist.js is the SVG animation API that lets you create animations of your imagination by using SMIL. The other feature I love about Chartist.js is the separation of CSS from JS. Style is fully controlled by CSS/media queries whereas logic stays behind in JavaScript, completely decoupled.

Datawrapper provides Data tables, maps, column charts, stacked bar charts and line charts, these are all fully responsive and can easily be embedded in the leading content management systems and websites. Datawrapper charts adapt to the styling of the blog or news websites and fits in seamlessly.

Plotly can be used for creating charts, presentations and dashboards, its customers include names like Google, Siemens, P&G, NASA, Goji and Simple Bio. Plotly has four plans that include a free community edition, personal edition at a very nominal price, professional edition and an on-premise model.

EJSchart used to be a commercial library but has recently gone open source, and for that reason, it is now available as free to use for anyone. EJSchart.js is an advanced library and offers smooth user experience and interactivity with features like mouse tracking, scrolling, crosshairs, key tracking hints, on the fly data loading from XMLs, stackable multiple chart series etc. and much more.

It allows exporting charts in PNG, JPG, SVG and PDF. You can view the various chart types it offers in the demo section. Highcharts is free for non-commercial and personal use, but you will have to buy a licence for deploying it in commercial applications.

Tableau Public is perhaps the most popular visualization tool which supports a wide variety of charts, graphs, maps and other graphics. It is a completely free tool and the charts you make with it can be easily embedded in any web page. They have a nice gallery which displays visualizations created via Tableau. 350c69d7ab
