How to Download and Use Data Acquisition Software SW-U801-WIN

Data acquisition software SW-U801-WIN is a powerful Windows program that allows you to connect and control various Lutron instruments, such as dataloggers, multimeters, scales, color analyzers and more. With this software, you can display the data from up to eight instruments simultaneously, record the data in real time or at intervals, set high/low limits and alarms, export the data to Excel or text files, and create charts and graphs for analysis.

Step 1: Download the Software

To download the software, you need to have the barcode/serial number of your Lutron instrument and an email address. Click on the link to request a password for software update. Enter your barcode/serial number and email address and send them to Lutron's mailbox. You will receive a password within 24 hours that is valid for one time only.

Step 2: Install the Software

The USB cable (model USB-01) is suitable for all Lutron instruments that have a RS-232 output function. The RS-232 cable (model UPCB-02) is suitable for some specific models of Lutron instruments. You can check which cable is compatible with your instrument in the operation manual or on Lutron's website.

To connect your instrument, follow these steps:

Plug one end of the cable into your instrument's RS-232 port.

Plug the other end of the cable into your computer's USB port or serial port.

If you are using a USB cable, you may need to install a driver for it. You can download the driver from by finding the model USB cable driver in the list of software.

If you are using a RS-232 cable, you may need to set up the communication parameters for it. You can do this by opening the software and clicking on Setup > Communication Setup. Then, select the correct COM port number, baud rate, data bit, stop bit and parity bit for your instrument.
