[S2E11] Jen At Work

Shaun and Nurse Petringa work on rotating the baby, while Viola squeezes Petringa's arm. Petringa yells to stop as they realize her placenta erupted and baby's heart rate is dropping as she bleeds out. Shaun calls for supplies and an OBGYN to supervise his first solo surgery.

[S2E11] Jen at Work

Viola's pressure is droppping, as both Petringa and Dr. Garcia begin to talk to him at once. Shaun becomes overwhelmed, telling everyone to be quiet as he needs to concentrate. He is able to see the baby's head, but when he removes the baby, he isn't breathing. Shaun begins to work on the baby, but Viola is meanwhile bleeding out. Shaun works on the baby instead of Viola.

Alex covers the marrow in bubble wrap and sends it down the laundry shoot. After a few seconds Melendez informs it is intact and they are ready to go. Bob suddenly complains about chest pain and they find him in cardiac arrest, learning the tip broke off his IV and it must be in his heart. Petringa and Dr. Garcia tell Shaun to immediately stop working on the baby and save the mother, but he feels they both can be saved, asking for surgical equipment. He retrieves Kellan to perform CPR on the newborn baby, reminding him not to press too hard or he'll crush his heart.

Shaun works on placing a balloon into Viola to stop the bleeding, encouraging Kellan to keep going. Alex needs to crack open Bob's chest, right in the janitor's closet. Meanwhile, Chris receives the bone marrow with his vitals looking good.

Shaun worries that the balloon isn't working, but he continues and Viola's vitals go back up. Shaun checks on the baby, realizing his lungs are filled with fluid and needs more medical equipment right away. Melendez calls Morgan, who learns how grave Audrey's condition is. Morgan lets him see her, praising her for taking care of her. Shaun explains to the mother that the baby has fecal matter in his lungs. Kellan is told hadn't he done CPR on the baby, chances are he would have suffocated by now.

Seth Bullock is at work on a coffin for William Bullock, and Al is delicate about approaching him. Offering condolences, he asks if he could walk beside him for "twenty paces or so." Yankton's man is among them, Swearengen reports, and Al is hoping Bullock will maintain the impression that he and Bullock are allied. The sheriff moves as if in a daze, but nods in agreement.[2]

GREY'S ANATOMY - "Sledgehammer" - Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital springs into action to save the lives of two young girls whose powerful story will force some of the doctors to revisit the effects of bullying on their own pasts. Meanwhile, Meredith must adjust to changes at home with her new roommates while Bailey continues to fight for the Chief of Surgery position and Jackson prepares for April's return to Seattle, on the Season 12 premiere of "Grey's Anatomy," THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 (8:00--9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Lasting Impressions proved a hit among fans and general audiences. The episode currently holds a rating of 9.1 on IMDB, the third-highest of the show until that point.[2] While 2.939 million Americans watched the broadcast live,[3] the episode proved a ratings hit over the next week, "lead[ing] broadcast network telecasts,"[4] and netting the biggest percentage gain among audiences ages 18-49 on television for the week.[5]

However, over the course of the week, the show nearly doubled its audience to 5.595 million viewers overall, and viewers ages 18-49 skyrocketed by 133 percent, establishing The Orville as the best performing show on network television that week.[5] Creator Seth MacFarlane was pleased with the results and tweeted, "Thanks everyone for sticking with us!"[12]

The last dish chosen was Jennifer's Baked Lobster with Roasted Fennel and Mashed Potatoes. Graham said the fennel looks wonderful and it all works beautifully together. Chef Ramsay said another big hit from her.

You know it had to end somewhere as Adrien brings up his dish. Graham says that it is visually appalling and flavor-wise it doesn't work. Chef Ramsay went as far as to say it looked like his grandpa's colostomy bag on a plate. Not good at all for Adrien.

The episode opens with Stan working on the machine. He rigs up some drums with toxic chemicals, as he exclaims on how he does not care how dangerous it is. He sets off a timer and syncs it up with another one on his wrist. As he looks in Journal 1, he learns that a side effect of the machine is temporary gravity anomalies.

The next day, Mabel wakes Dipper up to show him a closet full of fireworks. Stan invites them to set them off on the roof. While the twins are playing around, Stan attempts to tell them his secret but fails. As he resolves to tell them the truth later that day, a heavily armored operator proceeds to tackle him, and Agent Trigger comes up behind him to signal the rest of the tactical team to secure the Mystery Shack. Worried and perplexed, Dipper and Mabel inquire what is happening, before they notice Agent Powers and Trigger, whom Dipper thought they had been eaten by zombies. The agents tell the children that an unknown person stole toxic chemicals the night before, and they suspect that the culprit is Stan. They then proceed to put Stan in their car, sending him away to be interrogated. They also take Dipper and Mabel and inform them that they will be going to child services.

Mike goes to see Rachel, and he attempts to apologize for his actions. However, Rachel is still upset, and questions Mike on whether he told Tess what happened between them before he slept with her. Mike responds by telling her that Tess is married, to which Rachel is speechless. Harvey enters the office and asks Mike if he is ready to start working again, but Mike asks him to give Rachel and himself a minute; Harvey responds by informing Mike that they have a new case which cannot wait, and the two of them leave.

At Pearson Hardman, Louis is conducting interviews for the position as his new associate. He lists the many achievements of his interviewee, Maria Monroe, before stating that such achievements do not impress him, and gives her five minutes to prove why she "is the one". She responds by saying that she doesn't need five minutes, as she is the one, and already has offers from the top three firms in New York. Louis counters by saying that Pearson Hardman is a top three firm, but Maria suggests otherwise given that they haven't offered her an interview until now, and states that he should submit a formal offer by the next day if he wants her to even consider working at the firm. Louis interrupts her and steps out of his office, dismissing the other four interviewees waiting there, saying that the position has been filled. He then offers to give Maria a tour of the firm, but she declines.

In Harvey's office, Mike informs his superior that Albert Chung was wearing entirely black when he was knocked down, as he was tagging a wall with graffiti just prior to the accident and did not wish to be seen. Mike asks if Harvey intends to use this information to "stick it to Katrina", but he replies that Mike will do so instead, as given that Katrina's agenda is to beat him, Mike will be able to obtain a better deal going alone. Mike goes to see Katrina, and presenting her with the evidence they have, she agrees to accept the deal they proposed. She states that her desire is to work at Pearson Hardman, and asks that in return for her accepting Mike's deal, he put in a good word for her with Harvey.

Mike arrives at his apartment to find Tess waiting for him, wearing only her underwear. She inquires how the case he was working on went, but he brushes her off. She invites him to join her on the bed, but Mike states that he can no longer continue their affair. He asks Tess whether she loves her husband, and after she replies that she doesn't know, he states that what they are doing is wrong, and he no longer wishes to be a part of what they are doing. Tess asks Mike what he would do if she wasn't married, but he asks her to leave, and she does so.

House assumes that Everybody lies and in the vast majority of cases he has to work around those lies in order to come to a proper diagnosis. House also realizes that the vast majority of the lies he deals with are for understandable reasons and that patients usually don't lie unless they consider it to be important to do so. It's one of the reasons why House eschews direct contact with his patient - it tends to cloud his objectivity.

Our Recommendations: Sarah recommended The Takeover Effect by Nisha Sharma which has a corporate espionage plot. Jen was maybe thinking of Set it Off and recommeded Elle Kennedy's Out of Uniform series. Jen mentioned Getting Hotter by Elle Kennedy, but upon further reflection, also thinks The Heat is On (in an anthology called Hot & Heavy) might work. But since Hannah was actually talking about Set it Up, which is about assistants and bosses, maybe try The Assistant by Ramona Gray or check out this extensive goodreads list of boss/employee romance novels.

Our recommendations: : We don't say it here, but one strategy Sarah and Jen use all the time with more popular tropes is searching for a Goodreads list. If you can find a book with a title or two you like on it, you might like others! Jen recommended His Until Midnight by Reese Ryan, and also noted that Sarah's book A Rogue by Any Other Name has this trope. Sarah recommended Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas. And a trailing suggestion was trying Christina Lauren, who has written many great enemies to lovers books and maybe one also has childhood friends. We didn't mention it on the podcast, but if you like YA, Jen loved Not if I Save You First by Allie Carter. That one would definitely work!

Our recommendations: Sarah and Jen both liked The Professor by Charlotte Stein. Sarah also recommended The Unrequited by Saffron Kent. Bodyguards for some reason we didn't have specifics, but check out Sexy/Dangerous by Beverly Jenkins, which has a female bodyguard. Fallen by Rebecca Zanetti will work. But also, Jen is convinced that something in Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series will work. 041b061a72
